Susie Reed Photos · Sedona, AZ
About
Susie Reed photographs Sedona's red rock country and Southwest rock art. Her work has been shown at the Cooper Hewitt, the De Young and the Library of Congress.
Approach
Susie shoots in the field, out on location, capturing subjects as she finds them rather than setting up shots in a studio. She's best known for her critically acclaimed pictures of Southwest rock art, a passion born in 1995 when she unexpectedly discovered pictographs and petroglyphs while vacationing in Sedona.
In 2005 she moved to Sedona from Sausalito, California, following her heart's calling to shoot its spectacular scenery and to document and protect its rock art. She lives near Cathedral Rock, leads scenic, photo and archaeology tours, and teaches photographers of every level, with any camera, to take better pictures and finish them in Photoshop and Lightroom.
Her photographs are available for licensing and as paper, metal or canvas prints, and she's represented by Goldenstein Gallery in Sedona. Her pictures have also appeared in books, magazines, solo calendars and murals, and on Forest Service signs.
